(Doing the math: that’s one bug per 600 lines of code, and almost all are security bugs. The bug count may be too low and the security bug count may be too high. But never mind)
The go on:
Within minutes a hacker can easily breach the traditional security measures of nearly any modern car. Once a hacker has access to a computerised vehicle travelling at 100km/h including control of steering, brakes, ignition and locks, the threat to human life and public safety cannot be underestimated. Security breaches are exploited for various nefarious purposes including information theft, vehicle theft, stalking, espionage and other illegal activities potentially including terrorism.
